 Abraham Lincoin biography

• He was born on 12 February 1809 in Hardin County, in the US state of Kentucky. His father was Thomas Lincoin and mother was Nancy Lincoin. His entire family was very poor and lived in a wooden house built by himself. Besides Abraham, he also had an older sister called Sarah. 

• Another son was born after Abraham to Thomas Lincoin and Nancy Lincoin, but he died in infancy. Abraham's father was a farmer and he also worked as a carpenter. Two years after Abraham's birth, the Lincoin family had to leave the house due to a land dispute. 

• After which in 1811 he moved to Knob Creek Farm, thirty kilometers north of there, and there he started working on making the land suitable for farming. But after some time here too he had to face land dispute and again had to leave that house. After which in 1816 the Lincoin family settled on the banks of the Ohio River in Indiana, where they started farming in the dense forest. Here his house and fields are still preserved as a memorial.

• When Abraham Lincoin was six years old, he was sent to study in a school, but due to the economic condition of the house, he had to work in the fields to help his father and due to the circumstances, he had to leave his studies. 

• Although Abraham was very fond of studies. He used to take books from others and study whenever he got a chance. Meanwhile, a very sad turn in his life came when Abraham's mother died, then Abraham Lincoin was only nine years old. After the mother's death, the responsibility fell to Abraham's sister Sarah, then she was only eleven. A year later, seeing the troubles at home, Thomas(Abraham Lincoin's father) remarried to Sarah Bush, who already had three children. Abraham Lincoin was loved by his second mother even more than his real mother and she never let him feel the lack of a mother.

• Simultaneously, Sarah Bush helped him a lot in his studies or writing, Abraham also respected her a lot. After becoming the President, he said in an interview that all the credit for what I have now goes to my mother. Abraham's father did not treat him well and was also against his studies. 

• That is why, Abraham built a boat using the carpentry he learned as a child to support himself. And by becoming a boat carrier, he started the work of carrying goods, as well as he used to work in people's fields. After some time Abraham Lincoin got a job in a shop, where he also started getting some more time to study. 

Interesting fact of Abraham Lincoin

• While living here, he started studying law on his own without any college. While studying law, he once came to know, in the village on the other side of the river, lives a retired judge, who has many law books. Lincoin made it so that he would go to the judge and request him to let his book collections fall to him as well. It was very cold in those days. But Lincoin without hesitation, landed his boat in the icy river, after going a short distance, his boat collided with an ice and broke there. 

• Nevertheless, Lincoin did not give up and crossed the river swimming and reached that judge's house and requested him to read the books. Seeing his hard work and passion, the retired judge allowed him to read all his books.

• But the servant working at his house was on leave. That is why he asked Lincoin to do his household chores, which Lincoin also happily accepted. He brought wood from the woods for the retired judge, provided him with the water he needed as well as did all the household chores, and as a laborer he was only allowed to read the book, but Lincoin was more than happy with it. After some time he became the postmaster in the village, due to which people came to know him and started respecting him. 

When was Abraham Lincoin elected?

• Now Abraham Lincoin thought of coming into politics seeing the problems of the local people, because at that time slavery was at its peak. Abraham hated the atrocities on slaves from the very beginning, and wanted to end slavery. 

• On the other hand, while contesting the elections, he had also left the job of post master. Due to which he was very short of money. Although Abraham used to stay away from women, but at the age of twenty-four, he fell in love with a girl named Rutledge. But unfortunately, a few days later, Rutledge died of a serious illness. Abraham was deeply shocked by this incident and he used to weep for a long time near the grave of his beloved. 

• Almost everything in Abraham Lincoin's life was going against him and he had become very depressed, avoiding even harming himself. During that period, a friend of his called Bowling Green, boosted his morale and got him out of that shock. With the help of his friend, Abraham Lincoin again contested the election of MLA and now he has won.

• After that victory, he was counted among the youngest MLAs and then slowly he attracted the youth towards him. Now he used to speak openly in the Legislative Assembly, due to which his words were being given importance there too. On the issue of making Spring Field the new capital by him, the government had to obey him. Abraham Lincoin had now also got a license to become a lawyer and then he met a famous lawyer. They started working together but after some time the lawyer left him and Abraham also failed in advocacy.

 What was Abraham Lincoin most famous for? 

•  Because Abraham Lincoin did not charge any fees to fight the cases of the poor people and never fought a false case. But he advocated for twenty years, because doing that work gave him peace of mind. Many stories, testify to his honesty and gentleness from his advocacy. 

• Once, Abraham and a colleague of his attorney brought a domineering man in possession of a mentally ill victim's land to court. The case lasted only a short amount of time, but the associate lawyer took the full fee from victim and happily told Abraham that the full fee had been paid and victim was very happy with the court's decision. Whereas, Abraham Lincoin said that he is not happy because it belongs to a poor patient and it is better not to get such money. If you want your fee, you take it, but return it immediately for my share. In 1842, Abraham Lincoin married a girl called Mary, and they had four children. But only Robert, born in 1843, survived and the rest died in infancy.

 

Why is Abraham Lincoin the best president?

• In 1860, Abraham Lincoin contested for the presidency of the United States and eventually achieved the most successful position of his life, becoming the sixteenth President of the United States. After becoming the sixteenth President of America, Abraham Lincoin did such important works which have not only national but also international importance. Lincoin's greatest achievement was America's recovery from the Civil War. And the credit for the end of slavery by amending the American Constitution also goes to Abraham Lincoin.
