Why we should not blindly follow others? | Why we compare ourselves to others?
Our topic is based on a question why do we blindly believe others? or why we compare ourselves to other? Moreover, our last topic was based on Motivation and How to overcome any kind of fear?, if you want to know then click here,
In this we begin with an experiment
- On what concept the whole experiment based on?
- What was the result of the experiment?
- Why scientists did the experiment?
- Was it successful or not?
- How the experiment can be helpful/useful for us?
- Why students do not ask questions?
- What we can learn from it?
So, let us begin our topic,
- Once upon, some scientists together did some very interesting experiments. After all, what did those scientists do in that experiment? Actually he took a very big cage and put five monkeys in that cage and put a ladder there, as well as put some bananas on the top of the ladder.
- After that those scientists did a very strange thing, that as soon as a monkey climbed that ladder, to take off the bananas, those scientists used to rain cold water from above. And when the monkey came down from the ladder to escape from the cold water, the rain also stopped.
- In the same way, again a monkey climbs the ladder to take off the bananas, then it starts raining cold water and if the monkey comes down to escape, then the rain would stop. So on this all the monkeys took this to mean that as soon as someone climbs the top of the ladder, it starts raining cold water.
- After this, as soon as any monkey tried to climb that ladder, the rest of the monkeys would catch him, beat him and bring him down. Then, if another monkey tried to climb the ladder again, the rest of the monkeys would do the same to him.
- Observing this, the scientists made some changes, and removed one of those monkeys from there, and put another monkey in its place in the cage. Now the new monkey didn't know what was actually happening there? (Meaning about that ladder, Bananas and the rain of cold water).
- As soon as the new monkey saw Bananas, he immediately started climbing that ladder. But now those scientists did not make any rain of any kind. While still those other monkeys caught that monkey, dropped it down the ladder, and started beating.
- Now that monkey could not understand anything, why is he being beaten up? So that monkey tried again and started climbing the ladder, but still those four monkeys did the same. Whereas, that monkey again dared, but still the same thing happened to him.
- So what did that new monkey understand on this? That it is forbidden to climb that ladder here, because as soon as you climb the ladder, there is a beating. Why is he forbidden to climb the ladder? Or why is he getting beaten up for climbing the ladder? The monkey had no idea of this, but it settled in his mind that it is forbidden to climb the ladder. Now that monkey thought that neither he himself should climb the ladder, nor should anyone else be allowed to climb the ladder.
- The scientists then made a change, and took out one of those old monkeys, and put a new monkey in the cage again in its place. Now this new monkey also did what the other monkeys had done before, that is, seeing Bananas, he ran away, as soon as he tried to climb on top of that ladder, the other four monkeys gathered and they beat that monkey and beat him. dropped down. Like the earlier monkey, this monkey also did not understand anything, then tried again, then beaten. Now this thing has also settled in the mind of this monkey, that one gets beaten up on climbing the ladder, so don't climb the ladder.
- After that the scientists again made a big change and in this change they removed the rest of the old monkeys from the cage one by one and in place of those monkeys, three new monkeys were put in the cage.
- Now all these monkeys were new, but together, none of them knew why it was forbidden to climb the ladder? It was just sitting in their mind that they get beaten up when they climb the ladder. So, none of the monkeys were trying, even though it was not even raining cold water. Then what was the matter? If those monkeys wanted and made a little effort, they would have climbed the ladder comfortably and ate bananas as per their wish.
Now the question comes here that why didn't they try? or else
How we may relate from this?
- If we go with it a little carefully, then the same thing happens to us humans, or even children. For example, once a class of older children was going on and in it a teacher was teaching something to the children. Now that there is a class, it is obvious that there will be both smart and fine children in it.
- A more intelligent child asked some questions to the teacher, then the teacher explained the answers to the questions well and later the teacher also asked some questions to that smart child. So that child kept answering all the questions, due to which that child also got praise.
- On the other hand, another child asked some questions to the teacher, which was not so good in studies, so the teacher explained everything to him very well. And also the teacher asked some questions to him, but that child could not answer all the questions, so the teacher wrote some questions to that child as a punishment and also asked him to remember.
- The next day the same thing happened again, another less intelligent child asked some questions to the teacher, on which the teacher first explained properly and later asked some questions related to what he had explained last time. To which the child could not answer properly and as a punishment, the teacher wrote down some questions and said to remember it too.
- After seeing this, the other less intelligent children thought that they get punishment for asking questions to the teacher. He would tell each other too that don't ask questions to the teacher, otherwise you will get punishment.
- Now the thing to learn is that as a student, when someone asks questions, he does not just clear his doubts, but helps in clearing the doubts of many students. This also makes him grow to improve himself, but as soon as he stops clearing his doubts, he holds back from improving himself.
What we can learn from this?
- Even when someone thinks about improving himself, then many questions arise, if only then we do not find the answer to those questions, do you think that we will be able to move forward towards success? ?
- Those scientists were doing experiments on monkeys, they were poor animals, and they did not know how to ask questions. But we are human, yet why do we get frightened by problems or questions while accepting good things?
- But it is also true that do not get entangled only in questions. Rather, it is very important to have hard work and dedication to become better.
