Who knew that a company that came into existence only a few years ago would rule the whole world, and it would become a habit of the people on seeing it, Android.

 

 


  • This post is about the most used operating system in the world's mobile phones, that is Android, without which our life seems incomplete. Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter, or any of our favorite apps that we are able to use very comfortably, it is because of the discovery of this dew. 



  • Which started developing in 2003 and has never looked back since its launch in 2008. Now Android has expanded in such a way that apart from phones, it is being used in many electronic devices like TVs, smartphones, gaming consoles, and others. Android currently accounts for more than eighty percent of the global phone market. So now we know in detail how Android started and where it has reached today.

 

  

 

  • The development of Android begins in October 2003 when some people started working together on a project. And those guys were Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Nick Sears, Chris White. In fact, in the beginning, the aim of the company was to develop an operating system for a different project. 



  • And with this planning, the company also took money from investors. But later the company felt that the market of that project is not that big, that is why they changed the plan only after five months of the company's start and decided to make an operating system for mobile phones. 


  • But now the problem came that there was a lot of problem in explaining this concept to the investors and they withdrew their hands. At that time, the problem of money had become so much that Andy Rubin had borrowed ten thousand dollars from a friend, while then gradually the company started working properly. 




How And When Was Android Noticed By Google? 

  • When this concept seemed to be successful, it was noticed by Google (Sundar Pichai is current CEO Of Google) and Google's offer came to acquire this company. After this, in July 2005, the deal was finalized for about fifty million dollars. 


  • Then Android Inc. Some of the big employees of Google i.e. Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, and Chris White also joined the company Google. 

 

 

  • Although when Android was launched for testing in 2007, it got a very good response from the people, it was difficult to say whether the existing phone companies would be ready to change their operating system or not. 


How And When Did T-mobile G1 Came?
  • The biggest concern of Android at this point was to deal with smartphones like Nokia and Microsoft, which were already frozen players in the market.



  •  These companies were taking Android very lightly, and then the prior smartphone equipped with the Android operating system was the HTC Dream. Also known as T-Mobile G1, Google announced it on 23 September 2008. And then soon after the launch of this operating system, it started ruling the mobile phones of the whole world. 


  • In 2009, a research company estimated that Android had a 2.8% market share of smartphones worldwide in the second quarter. Which had grown to nearly fifty-two percent by the third quarter of 2011, and thus the Android operating system had overtaken all operating systems used in phones and tablets.



  • Whereas as of May 2013, forty-eight billion Android applications had been downloaded from the Google Play Store.



What Was The Impact Of Android?
  • Then more than a billion people had become users of Android, an increase of about twenty-seven percent compared to 2014 figures, which was four times more than IOS and almost three times more than Microsoft's operating system.

  •  Then moving forward in this sequence, in May 2017 with two billion monthly active users, Android surprised everyone. Given the popularity of Android even in 2021, it is inevitable that these figures are yet to touch new heights. 


Who designed the android logo?

  • The Android logo that we see everywhere was designed by graphic designer Irina Block, 


  • and note that every new version of Android comes with some kind of dessert-like donuts, cupcakes, eclairs, many more or all of them are available. 


  • Google has given the reason behind this that this device makes our life so sweet.
