Importance Plants Germination | Some Instructions About Tree Seed And Bonsai Seed Germination |
Trees are always helpful for us in different ways. As they give fresh and clean air, which is very good for our health, and good health is the real reason for success. The light shade of the trees protects us from scorching sun, which is why we should plant more and more trees. Which are helpful to provide a good and proper environment. Therefore, our topic is some vital instructions about tree seed and bonsai seed germination.
Healthy Well Environment
following are the measures about taking basic care of seeds as,
To maintaining freshness of the seeds is important to facilitate proper germination. This is why we store all our seeds in refrigerators dedicated for this purpose.
Therefore, to maintain their freshness until we are ready to begin the germination process, we can store the purchased seeds in plastic bags provided by us. Or we can keep the seeds in the vegetable drawer of our refrigerator.
There are proper and appropriate instructions for germination,
When we are ready to germinate the seeds, we have two methods of germination, which are as follows,
Natural germination, or stubborn germination.
Natural germination, means sowing seeds in autumn. Over interrupting the seeds must complete all the natural processes necessary for the seeds to germinate. Next spring, you should sprout the seeds.
Whereas stubborn germination, if we are artificially completing the germination process. Therefore, we will need to follow the steps listed below. Each seed is different, although most of them require three steps. Some may require more while others may require less. These stages are: - Scarification, stratification and sowing.
Scarification,
Each seed has a shell on each side of the living interior. Some are harder than others. The goal of the scarification process is to soften the shell and allow water to reach the inner part of the seed. You will use the seeds in water, usually in a glass or a bowl, for a period of one to two days. Hot water is used here, some seeds require boiling water while others require water at room temperature. Typically, viable seed will sink after a period of about a day, while others will float to the top. If the seeds are still present after a period of about two days, then we can discard them as empty seeds. Once completed, we are ready to do the next step (please note that for some seeds you will have to proceed directly to the third stage).
Cold stratification, this stage is cold stratification. This is the point where all the magic of nature happens. In nature, most seeds fall from trees in autumn. As a result, the seeds spend the winter period under cold temperatures, allowing the chemical in the seeds to develop and trigger the germination process when the ideal temperature is reached in the spring. In the pre-germination process, we try to recreate the winter period. To complete this process, the following materials should be used: -
Plastic ziplock bags,
paper towel,
And water,
Fold the paper towel in about two ways and moisten with water. It should not be dripping wet but moist. Place your seed on a moist paper towel and fold it over the seed. Place the paper towels with the seeds in a ziplock plastic bag and keep aside in your fridge for thirty to one hundred and twenty days in general. It is suggested that we should check our seeds with every thirty days to prevent rot and allow proper air circulation. We will also examine sprouted seeds. If process is complete, the sprouts will take seeds and grow for the next stage. If not, it is necessary to wait and then move on to the step.
Whereas,
Sowing, It can be done in ground or pot. We can use any soil suitable for planting and growing. Make a small opening in the soil (about half, one inch deep), place the seed in the opening and cover it with a few millimeters of soil, keeping the soil moist.
But there are additional things for some special species,
If we choose to germinate our seeds through the pre-germination process, we may need to follow these additional things. It occurs before cold stratification. All we have to do is to expose the seeds at ambient temperature for thirty to ninety days. This is called heat stratification and is accomplished by leaving the seeds exposed on the desk. After we get this phase, we should start again with cold stratification.
As mentioned above, we are almost able to know about how we can take care of seeds in correct way or proper medium. Clear and clean environment gives good health, which is very important for growing any plant(tree). So after planting seeds, cleanliness should also be taken care of. It is right in keeping us good and fresh, healthy.
